Since Revolution Books opened on May 1st, 1979, it has boldly promoted the revolutionary theory of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, and has an extensive selection of these "classic" works, as well as the publications of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA and the parties and organizations of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement.

Around these key works are concentrated a broad array of revolutionary and progressive books and periodicals that focus on historical and cultural works from and about all parts of the world, the oppression of women and women's liberation, a Foreign Language section with French and Spanish titles, and much more.

Our unique location in Harvard Square, has allowed Revolution Books to be in the midst of a broad crosssection of people drawn to to the area because of its history as a center of radical and intellectual debate; students from the many colleges in the area, radical youth from the 'burbs and inner city, political activists, revolutionaries, and progressive people from aroound the world.

Revolution Books has hosted many important programs, from discussions with noted activist Howard Zinn and author James Loewen (Lies My Teacher Told Me); radical poets like Frances Driscoll reading from her collection "The Rape Poems"; radical intellectual Noam Chomsky (author of Manufacturing Consent) and programs to promote important issues on the suppression of scientists with representatives of the Union of Concerned Scientists and the effects of the Patriot Act on immigrants by an expert on Immigration Law.
